YOU'RE THE SEVENTH GENERATION. TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER. SHE'S THE ONLY MOTHER WE ALL HAVE.

In the language of the Tsalagi Nation, the phrase Elohi Unitsi means "Mother Earth". Oakland, CA performance poet Dee Allen shows respect for our planet in his fifth poetry collection. The innate beauty, the consistent harm from humans and occasional travels to nature unfurl inside its printed pages. Elohi Unitsi is a look at the environment most people take for granted--the elements, forests, deserts, canyons, plants, food, animals and the indigenous people of the land--from the eyes of an inner-city Black man.
